Festivals
Now I love a good festival, the music, the food, the atmosphere, the people and the fashion!
However, I often find it really hard to think of original festival fashion, now more than ever since it has really taken off in recent years. So I like to take classic festival style and give it my own country twist! However I also absolutely adore boho fashion so when it comes to picking out festival outfits I tend to stick to flower bands, braided hair styles, lots of jewlery and loose flowing dresses.
Enough of my rambling and without further ado, here is festival fashion, Katherine Lottie style!
Make-up
Its a rare occasion when I wear 'out there' make-up but festivals are one of those! For this look I roped in my friend to help (she is pretty amazing at doing make-up unlike me) and together we came up with this!
I also decided to go for winged eyeliner using the Loreal super liner rather than my normal pencil. However since I have quite big eyes already, whilst I did a small cat eye flick I wanted to keep the line quite thin and delicate so as not to over accentuate my eyes.
I finished off the look by adding a light wash of colour to my lips using the Nyx Butter Gloss in Apple Strudell.
Hair
One of the benifits of having long hair is that it is very easy to experiment with different braids and up-dos, this can come in handy at festivals when showers and shampoo are few and far between. However for this hairstyle I chose a very simple braid to allow me to draw attention to my floral headband which I picked up at another festival a couple of years back. To create this look I took a section from each side of my head and plaited them all the way down bringing them both to the back of my head and securing them with a couple of bobby pins. I then placed the headband onto my head resting it just above the plaits.
Outfit
Now for the bit you have all been waiting for, the outfit!
The heart of the outfit is my Cowboy boots. I found these bad boys a couple of weeks ago in an old vintage shop and have been obsessed ever since. I wanted all attention for the outfit to be drawn to the boots so, I chose a simple base of a white lace dress from Miss Selfridge and I layered on top a loose fitting checked shirt which I found in Next. I then added lots of silver rings and a couple of bangles and I was ready for the mud and music!
Those boots!!!!!!! I think im in love haha. Can you remember the name of the shop you got them at or brands that sell a similar style??
ReplyDeleteDon't worry I am too! They are from a vintage store called Sobey's, but I had found a couple that were similar to these on Ebay!
DeleteHi Katherine. Would it be possible to request an outfit post? I am going to a formal work dinner I a couple weeks and like you I have an abundance of dresses in my wardrobe which I could use but I have no idea how to style any of them (which is when I started to panic haha) Thank you. Sarah
