Spring style: Girls
Alright everyone...
Its that time of year again, you can feel the turn in weather which tells you Spring is finally well and truly on its way.
I thought, to celebrate the season of new beginnings I would give you all an insight into some key staples for the warmer weather.
It was a beautiful crisp March day, the sun was warm, the birds were singing but there was still a slight chill in the air that reminded you Summer was still a little while away. So what better way to enjoy the days spoils than drag your friends out to the nearby fields and take some pictures of their outfits.
Lucky for me, my friends have great fashion sense and thus hopefully this will provide a few idea's for how you can transition from a Winter wardrobe into a Spring one!
I will be splitting this blog post into two halves with today's focusing on girls fashion and next weeks on boys fashion, I hope you enjoy and I shall see you next week!
Daisy...

I am a big fan of over-sized shirts so its no surprise that I adore Daisy's loose white button up. Shirts are a great piece for transitioning as they add a little bit of warmth (especially if you go for a thick flannel material) but they are not as heavy as a cardigan or jumper. Moreover Monochrome is a great choice for early Springtime, as its not too bright and therefore doesn't scream 'Summer' but its still very elegant and understated. I particularly like Daisy's jeans as the extra texture on the calf's gives some diversity to simple black denim and are a nice alternative to ripped jeans which are very 'on trend' this season.
Through in some sunglasses, a loose fitting crop top and a pair of simple brown boots and you have, as Daisy demonstrates the perfect look for early March.
Hazel...
The classic gingham shirt is a staple for any wardrobe, particularly at this time of year. The pale blue check is a lovely soft colour for early Spring and like Daisy's outfit the colours are not too bold or too simple, creating a really nice silhouette. Also the button through nature of the shirt means it can be left undone if the weather gets too warm.
Pairing a simple shirt with pale denim really lightens up a winter outfit. Either a simple denim skirt with some tights (which can also be removed if the weather warms up) as Hazel has done or some skinny,or, maybe even loose fitting boyfriend jeans.
Some tan coloured boots and a matching belt complete the look and you are ready to go!

Oh I do love myself a good old play-suit and Pip's is no exception!
The loose fit of the play-suit is incredibly flattering and along with the long sleeves, it is perfect for a chilly day with a few spots of warm sunshine. During the more colder snaps you can, as Pip has done, wear tights but, when the weather warms up a little you can just take off the tights and brave bare legs. Play-suit's are also perfect for the March winds!
Much like Daisy and Hazel, Pip has chosen muted, understated colours and I adore the feminine floral pattern of the play-suit, its perfect for spring time. Add a loose fitting cardigan and some healed boots and you are hot to trot!

This really got me in a spring mood! cant wait to see what the boys blog is like :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it, it really got me in the Spring mood taking the pictures and writing it!
ReplyDeleteI love Pip's jumpsuit! is it possible to ask were she got it from? Now that fashion week is over, will you be doing a review, I've loved your ones from last year !!
ReplyDeleteYes of course, its from Jackwills.com! I shall be doing a blog post on the fashion weeks following my Spring staples for boys. Hopefully it should be up within the next week or so!
DeleteThank you! might just have to buy myself a play suit now! Just a quick question, I am very much a winter girl so summer fashion is a bit daunting, especially with summer footwear, I was wondering if you could give me a few suggestions for staple summer footwear?
ReplyDeleteI completely understand, I am very much a winter girl at heart! Consequently I am quite unconventional with my summer footwear, as I like to wear my Cowboy boots most of the time- even in the hottest weather. However I would also suggest a pair of penny loafers, moccasins or some gladiator sandals! I hope that helps!
