Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Alrighty everybody!
Its the first of December!
My Christmas tree is up!
I have to admit that I am very much a lover of the festive season. So much so, that I am frequently told off for being way too over excited, far too early, but I just cannot help myself.
I have always believed the build up to Christmas to be the best part. Finding the perfect tree, decorating the house to Michael Buble's Christmas album, buying and wrapping the presents to go under the tree (then re-wrapping them all multiple times due to my atrocious wrapping skills), hearing the Christmas music on the radio, the Christmas jumpers.. my list really could go on for eternity!
But there is one particular day which I look forward to the most all year, and that is when we buy the Christmas tree.
A short drive from our house, after a few miles of pot-holed, rough and un-even country lanes, overlooking the West Country valley, a small farm lies hidden away.
Its a family tradition of ours to visit this farm every year on the first week of December to buy our Christmas tree and indulge in a free mince pie and some mulled wine. It is a truly magical place to visit during the festive season and really gets you into the festive mood. There are an abundance of different Christmas tree's, a quaint wooden cabin filled with Christmassy treats and of course, plenty of animals to see, including the two reindeer's- Sugar and Spice.
So Mum, Hazel and I set off on the first day of December to find the perfect tree which would grace our sitting room this year and I have to say, I think it is the best one yet!
