Lazy summer days
When the sun is softly shining, it's warm and there is a soft breeze ruffling the nearby trees, it's that time of the year which can only be described as one of those lazy summer days...
This is when I am in my element, being a lover of carefree days where I can drink endless amounts of tea and wear loose clothing until my heart is content, lazy days let me experiment with loose, bohemian style clothing and loads of different kinds of tea (yes, I really did just say that...)- to see if I can reflect the effortless atmosphere around me.
Today I chose to wear a loose ditsy skirt from Crewclothing.co.uk, which falls to just above my knee (sometimes it is nicer to wear a longer skirt because it can be a lot more demure and flattering for the silhouette), I tucked in a simple grey tank top from Hollister.com, adding a thin leather belt I found in a charity shop and finishing with a baggy white man's shirt. I love wearing loose shirts over my outfits as they are cool and comfortable, particularly on hot days when you want something to cover you from the sun without making you over heat!
Also a lazy summer day can give me the chance to dive in head first into my other passion, books! I can delve into the depths of the world created by the author and surround myself in depictions of country's and time's far from my reality. At the moment 'Therese Raquin' by Emile Zola is my novel of choice and let me just say that it is incredible, if you like Paris (which seems to be becoming a running theme at the moment!) and you like mystery, drama and intrigue this is definitely a novel for you!
I hope that this inspires you to take a day off and to have a lazy summer day yourself or give you a few Boohoo outfit ideas and maybe even an interesting book recommendation!
I'll see you very soon...

Hi Katherine
ReplyDeleteWould just like to say that I love your blog!
I was thinking of starting a fashion blog myself and yours has definitely inspired me :)
I was wondering if you could do a post about your make up since your skin always looks so flawless and clear.
Hi there! Thank you very much, I am really glad you like the blog and it has been helpful:) I will definitely have a go at make-up though I don't wear much but I shall give it my best shot!
DeleteI love this outfit, where did you get the shirt from? XX
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you- it's one of my favorites too!
DeleteIt is actually a small men's shirt from Next.co.uk, which I found on a sales rail right at the back of the store but you can pick up similar shirts from anywhere really, Fatface.co.uk do some fairly similar styles at the moment in both men's and women's so I would defiantly check them out!
